Keep those little doggies toastie

My friend Phyllis DeGioia, editor at VeterinaryPartner, has a soft spot for old little dogs. After Hurricane Katrina, she took in two foster dogs, and kept one for good after it became apparent no one would want the ancient poodle because of his health and rag-tag appearance.
She named him Clint, because he seemed like such a tough guy despite all his troubles. And he is a tough guy after all, still alive and happy long after anyone could have imagined. Attaboy Clint!
Clint’s not the only dog who lives the good life with Phyllis. She mentioned lately that she got a new coat for Fred, her darling little cancer survivor. She says the coats, by Canine Coat-ture, are handmade, durable and reasonably priced. We can sure see they’re doggone cute. Takes a real dog to look good in kitty-patterned fleece, right Fred?
