No offense, but the new colors are extremely painful for me to read tonight. Contrast is jarring, and the stuff on the left and right (like More Blogs) is really hard to read.

I like the new look. While the red is in stark contrast with the white background of the content, it isn’t distracting.
However, I’d strongly recommend changing the title color from black to something else in the sidebar. Or then you should increase the weight of the text. Red and black are near enough in their contrast levels that thin black letter tend to get lost (especially on a 15” display with a resolution of 1600x1200).

And, um the comment preview apparently still needs a bit of work?
I couldn’t see the comment text (black on black) and the colors seem a bit off considering the rest of the layout.

Your book came in the mail, finally! I found it on the counter when I woke up—my husband brought it home from the office—and I picked it up and read it cover to cover BEFORE I even went on the computer!

Thank you! Maybe I just checked the page at the wrong time. The red and black on white background is much easier on my eyes than the bright colors on black background I saw last night!

I like the paw and heart in the masthead! I agree with the comments about the titles on the left. Hard to read. But, I love your blog, anyway!
