Dr. Marty Becker asks: Will good times continue for the pet industry?

February 18, 2009

We had some technical problems in getting this edited and up, but it’s well worth watching after Global Pet Expo. Our Dr. Marty Becker interviews Bob Vetere of the American Pet Products Association (our DogCars.com editor Keith Turner did the video. I think we’ll do more):

  1. Forgive me for this very OT: but please keep in mind today a big Irish Setter named Clancey who had to be put down last night for a mass on his liver. He was my best friend’s parent’s dog, but he was one of my good friends. He was a lovebug and he’ll be awfully missed. http://flickr.com/photos/loriflower/3276784150/

  2. Lori … I’m really sorry. Some of my favorite dogs have been ones I didn’t own. My friend KT lost a great one this week. Sirene had a smile you’d never forget, but she saved it for her favorite people only. I always felt proud to be one of those people.

Sirene and Heather, when both were young:

  3. Thanks, it was the first email I saw when I got to work this morning and I wasn’t sure where to go with it, if you know what I mean.

Clancey had a special happy dance he would do when I came over, with all four big paws.

Maybe he and Sirene will get to romp together somewhere better than here, where we can’t fix all their hurts.
