Another reader sent me this link, which shares behind-the-scenes stories from pet-store employees (former employees, one assumes) and people who bought a pet-store puppy.
Read them, and you’ll know why this link is reason No. 20.
Please note: Several people write of "saving" a pet-store puppy. Don’t do this! Every time you give a puppy-mill retail outlet money for a dog, you guarantee that that puppy’s parents — and tens of thousands just like them — will be kept in hell for the rest of their lives. Supporting this industry continues this industry. Only when people stop buying puppy mill dogs will the puppy mill industry shut down.
